Guernsey children to benefit from TISE fundraising | TISE

Local children who are in need will receive assistance after staff fundraising initiatives at The International Stock Exchange (TISE) raised more than £2,600 for their charity of choice in 2019, Help a Guernsey Child.

Last year TISE staff participated in activities such as the Great TISE Taste Off, a wine and cheese night, a games evening, the Credit Suisse-led Hel(l)vetia Challenge and a Christmas raffle to raise money for the charity.

Laura Cornelius, HR Manager at The International Stock Exchange Group (TISEG), said: “TISE is delighted to be able to support Help a Guernsey Child and in turn, make a difference to the lives of local children. It’s so important that children can be given necessary support when they are in need, a sentiment that was shared by all of our staff during our fundraising activities.”

Help a Guernsey Child was established in 2001 to support deserving children in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

It relies solely on donations in order for it to be able to continue its emphasis on ensuring that local children have the necessities of 21st century life, such as safety equipment, a bed, clothes, toiletries and school/study books.

The funds raised by TISE staff will be used to assist eight sets of applicants with their requests for assistance.

Peter Webber, Chairman of Help a Guernsey Child, said: “We really value the support from TISE with this initiative and we are just so pleased that the staff chose to support us in 2019. It capped off a wonderful end to a great year for our charity and we are truly grateful.”

During last year, TISE staff were also been involved in other Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including several in conjunction with environmental concern group Pick It Up Guernsey.
