The International Stock Exchange (TISE) has recruited experienced financial services professional Mike Lightfoot to its Isle of Man office.
Mr Lightfoot joins as Business Development Manager at The International Stock Exchange Group (TISEG) with responsibility for helping to raise the visibility of TISE across the north of England.
Carolyn Gelling, Head of the Isle of Man Office of TISEG, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mike to TISE. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from his time in a number of technical and business development roles in the financial services industry. I look forward to him progressing our work in the cities of the Northern Powerhouse as we increase the visibility of TISE and raise awareness of the proposition, with a particular focus on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and owner-managed businesses in the scale up or capital exit stages of their life cycle.
“Mike’s appointment comes just over two years since the launch of the Isle of Man office of TISE. In that time we have continued to grow the number of member firms from the Isle of Man, with more in the pipeline, and have received a pleasing flow of new business and enquiries from both on and off island. This is also generating additional work for local professional services and administration businesses on top of the direct substance and presence we are continuing to put into the island, of which Mike’s appointment is the latest example.”
Mr Lightfoot has previously worked across a range of firms in the international pensions and trust industry and was previously Managing Director with a private equity owned trust and corporate services provider.
Mr Lightfoot said: “I am really pleased to join TISE. I have watched the significant growth of the business in the last few years and the development of the office in the Isle of Man and now I am excited to be playing my part in raising the profile of TISE in the UK.
“I’ll be showcasing the way in which TISE provides an ideal venue for businesses of varying sizes to raise finance by listing debt or equity."
“I’ll be showcasing the way in which TISE provides an ideal venue for businesses of varying sizes to raise finance by listing debt or equity. However, principally I’ll be reaching out to owners of SMEs, as well as their advisers, to highlight how TISE’s cost-effectiveness and responsiveness enables companies to list at an earlier stage than might traditionally have been the case. As such, I look forward to working with the scale up community, especially in the north of England.”
TISE’s office in the Isle of Man is at North Quay, Douglas.
Fiona Le Poidevin, CEO of TISEG, added: “I am delighted to welcome Mike to the team at TISE. He joins at what is an exciting time of growth for the company as we add to our teams across the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey and I look forward to Mike playing a significant role in the attracting more new business to the Exchange.”
